교육에 대한 비판

미국에서 저는 "대학은 거짓말이다"라는 책을 썼습니다. 이것이 제가 이 책을 쓴 목적입니다. 대학의 대부분 전공들은 학생들의 돈을 뜯어내기 위해 고안된 거짓말들로 가득 차 있습니다.

그래서 저는 사람들에게 이렇게 말합니다. 여러분이 원하는 직업이나 경력이 대학 학위를 요구하지 않는다면 대학에 가지 마세요. 저도 대학에 가지 않았습니다.

또한 여러분의 직업이 대학 학위를 요구한다면 가능한 한 가장 빠르고 저렴한 길을 택하세요. 그 대학을 졸업하기 위해서만 너무 많은 빛이 여러분의 길을 막게 하지 마세요.

저는 한국의 교육열과 한국 교육의 현재 상태에 대해 조금 들었습니다. 한국에서는 대학에 들어가는 것이 엄청나게 중요하다고 들었습니다. 어느 학교를 졸업했느냐가 한국에서 매우 중요하다고 들었습니다.

그리고 여러분의 아이들이 어느 학교에 갔느냐고 질문하고, 그래서 그들은 학교에서뿐만 아니라 학원과 과외에서도 너무 많은 시간을 보내고, 그들의 전체 인생이 수능에서 좋은 성적을 받는 데 집중되어 있습니다.

좋습니다, 제가 여러분과 동의할 수 있는 것이 있습니다. 물론 기준 없는 삶보다는 높은 기준을 가진 삶을 사는 것이 더 좋습니다. 한국에는 정말 어려운 시험 시스템을 만들고 그것을 잘하는 학생들에게 상을 주는 시스템이 있습니다. 그것은 좋습니다.

하지만 솔직히 말해서 뭔가 심각하게 잘못된 것도 사실입니다. 등록금이 너무 비싸서 아이를 하나밖에 가질 수 없다면, 두 명이나 세 명은 더 좋지 않을 것입니다. 뭔가 잘못된 것입니다.

여러분의 아이들이 어느 대학에 가느냐 때문에 자살하고, 스스로 목숨을 끊고, 비참한 삶을 산다면 뭔가 잘못된 것입니다. 왜냐하면 여러분이 어느 학교에 갔느냐는 인생에서 그렇게 큰 의미가 없기 때문입니다.

더 중요한 것은 여러분이 대학을 졸업한 후 어떻게 웃고, 궁극적으로 하나님과의 관계를 어떻게 확립하느냐가 여러분의 인생을 결정할 것입니다.

성형수술에 대한 비판

또한 제가 한국을 보면서 꽤 논란이 될 수 있는 또 다른 것을 듣는데, 한국이 세계에서 성형수술률이 가장 높다는 것입니다.

저는 지금 서울의 한 호텔에 있는데, 서울의 모든 건물마다 성형외과가 있다는 것을 보았습니다. 이것을 보면서도 뭔가 잘못되었다고 느꼈습니다.

하지만 이 수술을 가장 많이 받는 것은 젊은 사람들입니다. 그런데도 결혼하지 않습니다. 아이도 낳지 않습니다. 그렇다면 도대체 왜 예뻐 보이고 싶어합니까?

저는 젊은 사람들이 일어나서 이런 질문들에 혁명적인 답을 주기를 원합니다. 그래서 저는 이 빌드업 코리아 컨퍼런스가 그 혁명이 시작되는 곳이 되기를 원합니다.

결혼과 출산에 대한 격려

여러분의 젊은이들이 결혼할 수 있도록 싸우세요. 젊은 나이에 결혼하세요. 그리고 이혼하지 말고 결혼을 유지하세요. 그리고 아이를 낳으세요. 여섯 명, 일곱 명 나오세요.

여러분, "나는 이만큼의 돈이 있으니까 이만큼의 아이를 가져야 한다"고 생각하지 마시고, 더 많은 아이를 가져야 합니다. 여러분이 여러분의 나라라고 부르는 이 나라는 이런 사소해 보이는 문제들보다 더 큰 문제들, 더 큰 이슈들을 해결한 나라입니다.

많은 사람들이... 나이가 들면서 더 많은 아이를 갖지 못한 것을 후회하는 사람들이 많습니다. 하지만 저는 "아, 내 아들이나 딸을 낳지 말았어야 했는데"라고 말하는 사람을 만난 적이 없습니다.

그래서 아직 결혼하지 않은 이 세대의 젊은 사람들이 있다면, 여러분 나라의 문제들을 바꾸기 시작하세요. 오늘 여기서 여러분의 남자친구나 여자친구를 만나세요.

삶의 무의미한 것들을 받아들이며 여러분의 인생을 낭비하지 마세요. 여러분이 현재 가고 있는 방향으로 계속 간다면 여러분의 나라는 멸망할 것입니다.

한국 정치 상황에 대한 경고

그리고 마지막으로 한 가지 더 말씀드리고 싶습니다. 지금 한국에서 일어나고 있는 끔찍한 일들이 있습니다. 목사들이 체포되고, 사람들의 집이 급습당하고, 트럼프 대통령은 한국 정부가 하고 있는 일을 면밀히 지켜보고 있습니다.

물론 저는 미국 정부를 대변해서 말하는 것이 아닙니다. 하지만 저는 숨겨진 시민입니다. 저는 이런 별명을 가지고 있고, 이 나라의 미디어와 다른 사람들이 저를 정확하게 인용하기를 바랍니다.

한국 정부가 지금 하고 있는 것처럼 계속 행동한다면, 미국은 일어나서 옳은 것을 위해 싸울 것입니다.

이 지구상에서 우리나라의 미래는 그것을 위해 싸우는 사람들의 것입니다.

[21m 59s] Also, the prosecution's special investigation into President Trump has been left with something truly [22m 2s] unimaginable [22m 2s] . [22m 10s] And they [22m 15s] tried to bring him down four times by accusing him of the sins they had created and not forgotten [22m 15s] . It [22m 23s] was a list of sins that no one else would ever be accused of, except for President Trump. The [22m 30s] left in America [22m 35s] said that was the way to protect democracy. [22m 38s] But we know. It was a completely opposite [22m 40s] purpose. [22m 43s] In America, oh, in China, [22m 46s] in Russia, [22m 50s] and the dictator in North Korea says the same thing [22m 50s] . [22m 58s] You guys, radical leftists. [23m 3s] Once they have their enemies in jail, [23m 3s] they can do whatever they want with them. [23m 9s] They also call their government a democratic [23m 9s] country. [23m 16s] But we know that their democracy has [23m 21s] only one acceptable outcome. A [23m 21s] democracy where they rule. [23m 27s] I know that South Korea is facing the same threat right now [23m 30s] . Having [23m 35s] lived through this in the United States, [23m 39s] I have some wisdom and advice for you [23m 39s] . You [23m 56s] must never be afraid of, and you [23m 56s] must never surrender to, those who tell you that your values, your spirit, and your beliefs are illegal. [24m 10s] You must stop the leftists from turning the democracy you believe in into [24m 13s] their own [24m 16s] dictatorship [24m 16s] . We must [24m 28s] stop them from turning this beautiful country, the Republic of Korea, into a vessel for the Chinese Communist Party. [24m 33s] You guys must know this. The [24m 39s] Chinese Communist Party wants to rule not only Asia, but the entire [24m 42s] world [24m 42s] . [24m 49s] So the United States and South Korea must [24m 52s] work together as allies to confront the Chinese Communist Party [24m 52s] . [25m 2s] Now, I [25m 2s] want to give you a personal challenge. [25m 11s] As you can see from how tall I am, [25m 11s] I am not Korean. [25m 16s] But I want to say something that might be a bit dangerous to you [25m 19s] . Even though it's [25m 25s] dangerous, I'm an American anyway, so I'll just [25m 25s] say it. [25m 32s] On my way to Korea, I [25m 44s] saw that the width of the swings in Naepo is 4-po generation. This country is called the 4-po generation. The [25m 55s] next generation will just give up because society is unstable and they can't succeed here. [26m 4s] There are 4-po generations and 3-po generations. [26m 8s] What are they? [26m 8s] I'll give up on dating, getting married, and having children. [26m 13s] But on top of that, I'm going to give up my job to do two more [26m 17s] . The butler will also give up [26m 17s] . Four generations. [26m 23s] But when I read the article, it said that [26m 25s] this keeps adding up and goes up to 10 points [26m 29s] . But what's the last one? I'm [26m 33s] going to kill myself. The numbers now say that a [27m 11s] woman in her prime in Korea will [27m 15s] have 0.75 children in her lifetime. [27m 22s] What that means is that [27m 22s] 100 adult women will [27m 28s] only have 37 children in their lifetime [27m 30s] and only 12 grandchildren [27m 32s] . The [27m 35s] nation of Korea itself is disappearing [27m 35s] . Our [27m 53s] country is disappearing not because of war, not because of communists, not because of immigration policies, but because I, the Korean people, have given up on our existence [27m 53s] . [28m] Of course, there are quite a few people in the United States who make that decision [28m] . [28m 4s] Because the United States now [28m 7s] has one of the most expensive housing prices in the world [28m 9s] . [28m 12s] And to graduate from an American university. It [28m 12s] costs so much money. [28m 17s] So I've met [28m 20s] a lot of students who just drop out of college and go back home [28m 20s] . [28m 27s] But to be honest, all these [28m 30s] excuses... It's just an excuse, so you should [28m 30s] n't accept it. [28m 35s] Not having children is [28m 39s] morally wrong. It's [28m 39s] not a level thing. If [28m 44s] you look at it historically. That's [28m 48s] really stupid. [28m 48s] Think about it. The [28m 51s] country called Korea, the [28m 53s] Republic of Korea, is a country that has existed for thousands of years [28m 55s] . [28m 58s] You have also overcome colonial life [28m 58s] . [29m 5s] And how many countries have been invaded by communist countries [29m 5s] ? This is [31m 15s] my purpose in writing the book. [31m 18s] Most majors in universities are full of [31m 21s] lies designed to rip off students' money [31m 21s] . [31m 29s] America. Every year, [31m 30s] the cost of getting that degree increases, but the [31m 33s] quality of their education decreases [31m 33s] . [31m 38s] In fact, graduating from that university makes it [31m 41s] harder to start life [31m 41s] . [31m 48s] So I tell people this. If the [31m 50s] job or career you want does [31m 53s] n't require a college degree, [31m 56s] don't go to college. [31m 56s] I didn't go to college either. [32m 5s] Also, if your job requires a college degree, [32m 10s] take the fastest and cheapest route possible. [32m 14s] Don't let too much light get in your way just to graduate from that university. [32m 22s] I've heard a little about Korea's educational fervor and the current state of education in Korea. [32m 28s] I've heard that in Korea, getting into college is incredibly important. [32m 34s] Which school did you graduate from? [32m 36s] I heard this is very important in Korea. [32m 40s] And what school did your children [32m 40s] go to? They ask questions and [32m 47s] so they spend so much time not only at school but also [32m 47s] at academies and private tutoring, and [32m 55s] their entire lives are [32m 56s] focused on getting good grades on the CSAT. [32m 59s] Okay, here's what I can agree with you on [33m 2s] . [33m 6s] Of course, it is [33m 6s] better to live a life with high standards than a life without standards. [33m 14s] In Korea, we have a system that creates really difficult exam [33m 17s] systems and awards students who do well on them [33m 23s] . That's good. [33m 23s] But to be honest, it's also [33m 30s] true that something is terribly wrong [33m 30s] . [33m 38s] The tuition is so expensive, the tuition is so [33m 39s] expensive, I can only have one child. [33m 43s] Two or three won't be better. Something is [33m 43s] wrong with this. If your [33m 52s] children are committing [33m 54s] suicide, taking their own lives, and [33m 57s] living a miserable life because of what college they go to, then something is [34m] wrong. [34m 50s] I'm in a hotel in Seoul right now, and I [34m 56s] saw that there's a plastic surgery clinic in every building in Seoul. Even while [35m] looking at this, I [35m] felt that something was wrong. [35m 7s] But it is young people who [35m 10s] undergo this surgery the most. [35m 11s] And yet, I don't get married. I [35m 16s] don't even have children. [35m 16s] Then why on earth do you want to look pretty? [35m 22s] I want [35m 24s] young people to [35m 30s] rise up and give revolutionary answers to these questions.
